My catch-all blog.
I will be all over the map, revealing the diversity of my interests and ideas.
And I'm sure that much of who I am will also be revealed.
Professor of Christian Studies and Philosophy for more than thirty years. Author of Think like an Octopus: The Key to Becoming a Good Thinker. Now the blogosphere is my classroom.
I am a contrarian, challenger of the status quo, a voice from a differing perspective. When I retired, I took off my watch, my shoes, let others answer the phone, and refuse to hurry, unless life is at stake.
Dr. Roark, I ran into my uncle — formerly known as Bill, now Joseph — last weekend in Kerrville.
We talked briefly about what a blessing it's been (for me) to resolve not to give into obligatory Christmas shopping — of which, so far, I've done NONE this year. Then, I went into JC Penny to buy myself a $2 shirt (a necessity for work).
He was bell ringing for the Salvation Army, and mentioned that once I finished my shopping, he would share some "good news" with me. I finished and rushed out to find him vanished.
I'm anxious to find out his news. but haven't been able to find him since. He looked good, but tired. I wonder if you've been in contact with him.
I also wonder also (and do from time to time) if you wouldn't consider wandering south to see us sometime. Kerrville really is lovely — a terrific writer's retreat.
